♦Socks on Two Circulars
This class is offered occasionally. Please contact us to be placed on a waiting list.
Session I Fee: $45 Instructor: Roxanne Richardson
Small circumference items can be knit in the round using two short circular needles rather than four or five double pointed needles. This class will teach you to knit socks cuff down with the two circs technique. You will be able to apply this technique to any small circumference item knit in the round.
We will spend the first class learning about the different parts of socks, how to customize your socks for a better fit, and casting on the proper number of stitches based on your foot measurements, your yarn, and your gauge.. If you are using self-striping yarn, you will learn how to make sure your second sock will match your first sock. In the second class we will knit the heel flap, turn the heel, and pick up stitches for the gusset. The third class you will finish the toe, learning two different ways to seamlessly graft the toe shut – right off the needles or using the “toe chimney” method.
Materials: sock yarn, 2 24" circular needles in appropriate size for yarn, stitch markers, tapestry needle.
